We are now looking to recruit two Lecturer in Animation will be located within the Wales Institute of Science and Art (WISA) but will be focused on delivery at one of our partner institution in Wuhan, or Fuzhou, China.

- THE ROLE –

You will have the opportunity to spend a significant proportion of their work time in China – where all teaching will be in English. In addition, some work will be required in the UK to enable other UK based staff members to engage more fully with the partnership and in liaison to ensure our Chinese students benefit from the latest UK educational materials and methods.
The post holder will be under the line management of the Academic Director but for operational day-to-day duties will work under the guidance of the relevant Programme and Partnership team leaders as well as working closely with Chinese colleagues.

- ABOUT YOU –

To be successful in the role you should have the following:
1) An honours degree in a relevant discipline
2) Evidence of the ability to deliver teaching, assessment and student support at undergraduate level in Animation and Motion Graphics
3) Demonstrable ongoing commitment to professional enhancement, scholarship and / or research and project work
4) Good organisational and personal management skills to balance competing pressures of teaching, scholarship, research, administrative demands and deadlines.

- ABOUT US -
The Institute of Inner-City Learning (IICL) is one of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s four Institutes with campuses in Birmingham and London.

The IICL has multiple intakes per annum, delivers continuous learning, teaching and recruitment cycles and operates in an intensely competitive inner-city and multicultural HE environment. The Institute currently has approx. 4,000 non-residential students on Certificates of Higher Education, Honours degrees, Masters and Doctoral programmes, some of which are also taught at weekends.

-THE ROLE-
The post holder will be required to devise a range of teaching and assessment materials, covering several modules and subject areas and may lead on modules and programmes and in particular: Finance, Human Resources, Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Marketing. A background in quantitative methods in a business and organisational context would be particularly welcome.

The post holder will deliver teaching in a variety of different learning environments and use a variety of teaching styles and approaches, including all levels of undergraduate study and, where appropriate, postgraduate study. The post holder will offer both academic and pastoral feedback and support to students to the highest professional standards and with regard to the ongoing enhancement of the student experience. The post holder will be a member of the Admission team and will be responsible for ensuring effective and timely service in the recruitment and admission of home applicants, in compliance with policies of the University and other relevant regulatory bodies.

学生服务高级官员将应答sible for working closely with the Principal Administrative Officer (Student Services) to ensure that all student-facing polices are practicable within the IICL campus and adhere to the rules and regulations of the wider University as well as external regulatory bodies. This responsibility will include engaging in a continuous monitoring, evaluation, and learning process in order to identify opportunities for development and improvement and make suggestions for actioning directives from the University’s senior team. The post holder will also serve as the IICL campus’ representative in key central UWTSD committees and occasionally deputise for the Principal Administrative Officer (Student Services) in others.

The post holder will support the Campus Operations Manager in scheduling timetables across the three-term academic year, ensuring that all teaching and learning sessions are appropriately timetabled.

The post holder will be expected to work closely with academic staff to ensure that students’ needs are met throughout their learner journey, and that appropriate and accurate information is communicated to them at all times. This may include uploading, reviewing and updating information on the virtual learning environment, and on the campus’ pages within the UWTSD website.

Another key aspect of the post is to liaise with Admissions and other relevant teams to support the transition of all new students from enrolment and registration into their first term of study.

-MAIN DUTIES-
• To ensure compliance with all UWTSD policies and requirements and those of relevant external Bodies, including, but not limited to Student Loans Company (SLC), UKVI and QAA;
• To ensure accurate and comprehensive student records are kept on the University’s data management systems;
• To work directly with students to ensure that they have adequate guidance and information throughout their learner journey;
• To coordinate the various branches of the central Student Services team, including those focused on pastoral care, student support, and well-being as well as those focused on record-keeping, data management, and compliance to create a comprehensive and accurate picture of each learner;
• To support the Campus Operations Manager in scheduling timetables across the three-term academic year, ensuring that all teaching and learning sessions are appropriately timetabled;
• To assist the Principal Administrative Officer (Student Services) in guiding and supporting academic staff members in compliance with both IICL campus and wider UWTSD policies and practices;

• To support the review and updating of information on the virtual learning environment, and on the campus’ pages within the UWTSD website oversee the IICL campus’ virtual learning environment, Moodle and ensure that module resources are streamlined;
• To represent the IICL campus on key UWTSD committees, as appropriate;
• To administer the student attendance monitoring system in an effective and efficient manner;
• To monitor the Student Services email inbox to ensure all emails are dealt with promptly and correctly;
• To provide training on a variety of aspects relating to Student Services and contribute to the training of a wider audience (e.g. academic staff) on student services-related processes;
• To take every opportunity to encourage a team approach across the IICL campuses in order to establish and maintain uniform student services processes across UWTSD wherever possible; and
• To undertake administrative duties identified by line managers commensurate with the level of the post.

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
• Previous experience of working in student services

- ABOUT US -
The Institute of Inner-City Learning (IICL) is one of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s four
Institutes with campuses in Birmingham and London.

The IICL has multiple intakes per annum, delivers continuous learning, teaching and recruitment cycles and operates in an intensely competitive inner-city and multicultural HE environment. The Institute currently has approx. 4,000 non-residential students on Certificates of Higher Education, Honours degrees, Masters and Doctoral programmes, some of which are also taught at weekends.

- THE ROLE –
The post holder will be a member of the Assessment team and will be responsible for ensuring assessments are conducted and results tracked in compliance with policies of the University and other relevant regulatory bodies.

The post holder will focus on coordinating assessments for learners across programmes. This will include but will not be limited to: setting assessment timetables with lecturing staff; coordination of the assignment submission process; data management for all assignment marks, including ensuring accurate entry of marks; preparation for the Examining Board process; ensuring student records are complete, accurate, and in compliance with GDPR standards; and communication with central departments and colleagues at other delivery locations.

The post holder will be required to work within the Assessment Team, as well as working closely with other student-facing professional teams, lecturing staff and colleagues as appropriate to ensure work is completed efficiently and effectively. The role also requires the post holder to be able to work independently and use initiative with the self-motivation to meet deadlines.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly and be able to prioritise conflicting demands. A proficiency in the use of Microsoft packages and a high level of attention to detail are important aspects of the post. Please note the role is for a Weekend Delivery.

-MAIN DUTIES-
• Coordinating the assessment submission timetable for every term of study alongside academic staff

We are now looking for a AV/IT Service Desk Engineer to join our Swansea Campus on a part time permanent basis working 18.5 hours per week.

- THE ROLE –
You’ll provide 1st and 2nd line IT support for end users to receive support and maintenance within the University’s desktop computing environment. You will log requests and incidents via the IT Service Desk system and provide end-user assistance in a timely and accurate fashion.
You’ll work effectively and proactively without supervision, provide appropriate support and guidance to junior members of the team.
You’ll be responsible for providing technical IT support to assist end users including supporting in-person and online platform events required at any Wales campus.

The main duties of the post will be:
Procurement & Deployment
• Support development and implementation of networking projects and new technology installations

Operational

- THE ROLE –
The Assistant Facilities Manager is a key post within the London Campus. The post holder will take responsibility for overall compliance and general maintenance of the buildings that comprise London Campus.

The Assistant Facilities Manager will ensure delivery of a high-quality soft Facilities Management (FM) service in a cohesive, proactive, timely, efficient and cost-effective manner. The working pattern for this role will be Tuesday – Saturday and the post holder will be the lead contact and coordinator for day-to-day delivery of Estates and Facilities operational services. They will coordinate and supervise the domestic, caretakers/security team as well as provide management support to the related reception services.

The post holder will report on a day-to-day basis to the Campus Facilities Manager of the London Campus, but with a professional accountability to the Facilities Manager within the central Operations and Compliance team.

One of the key responsibilities of the role will be to supervise the work of full-time Site Operatives. This will involve preparing staff rotas, monitoring and ensuring high level of cleanliness and building compliance. The post-holder will also work closely with external cleaning and maintenance companies and supervise and inspect all agreed work.

The post-holder will be responsible for day-to-day operational Health and Safety matters at the London Campus, working in conjunction with the central University Health and Safety team.

The post may require occasional travel between different delivery locations and other University sites depending on operational needs.

-MAIN DUTIES-
Estates
• Support the University’s Estates and Facilities Department to implement and audit the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule;
• Support the planning and implementation of site maintenance, improvement and development plans;
• Follow practices set by the University’s Estates and Facilities Department to implement a transparent and systematic approach to ensure work from staff and contractors is completed to a satisfactory level;
• Achieve maximum value for money and implement regular cost checking mechanisms;
• Comply with financial regulations;
• Assist in the management of the University’s Asbestos Management Plan;
• Support any project management which may occur through contractors from time to time;

Health & Safety
Take responsibility for Health and Safety issues on Birmingham Campus, working in conjunction with the University Safety, Health and Environment Unit.

Specific duties will include but not exhaustive to:
• Carrying out Fire Safety responsibilities such as fire alarm and emergency lighting tests, organising and running periodic fire drills as well as implementing Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPS) for staff or students;

The Assistant Facilities Manager is a key post within the Birmingham Campus. The post-holder will also work closely with external cleaning and maintenance companies and supervise and inspect all agreed work as directed to by the Campus Facilities Manager.

The post-holder will be responsible for day-to-day operational Health and Safety matters at the Birmingham Campus, working in conjunction with the central University Health and Safety team.

Estates
• Support the University’s Estates and Facilities Department to implement and audit the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule;

- Qualified practitioner in mental health or other appropriate equivalent experience
- Knowledge of the impact mental health issues can have on students' transition into HE and the potential impact on student retention and achievement while at university
- Experience of assessing, recommending and delivering support for people with mental health conditions

- Excellent communication skills to include the ability to work 1:1 with a diverse student population, to deliver training/presentations, and to contribute to meetings and case conferences.
- Knowledge of a range of wellbeing advisory approaches and methodologies
- Excellent organisation and administrative skills to effectively prioritise and manage a busy caseload.
- Excellent team-working skills to include the ability to flexibly support colleagues to meet student needs and ensure the delivery of a quality service.

It would also be beneficial if you had a:
- Membership of Universities Mental Health Advisors Network (UMHAN) or other relevant professional membership

- Experience of supporting students in higher education
- Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh – oral and written
