- THE ROLE -
The post of Senior Lecturer in Psychology will be located within the Academic Discipline of Health. The post-holder will be under the line management of the Academic Director but will be expected to contribute to programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level across the discipline and wider Institute (where appropriate).

The post holder will be expected to make a substantial strategic contribution and to lead on the BSc Psychology and Counselling and to undertake scholarship, research, training or project work, either individually or within a team, to enhance the profile of the wider School, Faculty and University. The postholder will also be required to develop internal and external collaborative relationships and to contribute to programme developments, teaching and assessment related (but not exclusively) to Psychology and Counselling.

Main duties will include:
•Offer teaching and student support in an area of applied psychology at undergraduate and postgraduate level of study, either individually or as a member of a teaching team.
•Contribute to stakeholder engagement, course delivery and development of wider strategic initiatives as part of the Health discipline in Birmingham.
•Working in close collaboration with Psychology and Counselling colleagues in Wales on course development, scholarship and research
•Offer teaching in a variety of learnings settings from seminar and small group tutorials, practical skills work, to personal development, using appropriate and engaging teaching styles, within an established programme of study and to relevant professional standards.
•Design and develop teaching materials, assessment methods and criteria, for individual modules or modules within a specific subject area, with a clear awareness and understanding of relevant quality assurance requirements.
•Supervise the work of students in a timely, professional and supportive manner, providing necessary advice on study skills, research methods, assessment and dissertation work.
•Offer appropriate advice, feedback, support, and encouragement to students, in both an academic and personal tutor role, to ensure a high quality student experience.

- ABOUT YOU -
You should have:
•Good honours degree in Psychology or closely-related subject
•A PhD or professional doctorate in one of the following recognised BPS specialisms: educational psychology, counselling psychology, clinical psychology, health psychology.
•Registered with the BPS/HCPC or equivalent.
•Proven track record of working in/with a range of relevant applied professional settings
•Previous experience of teaching and supervision at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
•Current knowledge of professional competencies and pathways in applied psychology specialisms
•Ability to enhance the discipline’s research and externality strategy
•Ability to work across different teams and take the lead on strategic initiatives.
•Demonstrable commitment to equality and diversity in working practices
•Willingness to work flexibly to meet role requirements

As a Lecturer in International Hotel Management, you will deliver teaching on our Certificate and Degree programmes in conjunction with our hotel partners.

The post of Individual Sports Coordinator will work closely with the Head of Sports Academy primarily on the leadership and management of the Individual Sports Academy, and in particular the student experience within this dynamic and exciting environment. It is a wide-ranging role covering the whole of the University, but being based in Carmarthen. You will be responsible for shaping the future of the Individual Sports Academy and will ensure the efficient deployment of physical and human resources to ensure the new venture is successful.
You will need a high level of experience of risk assessment across the individual sports due to the nature of the activities. Health and safety will be a priority responsibility.
Collaborative working will be key in ensuring the whole University benefits from the Individual Sports Academy’s future success and growth.
You will have an in-depth understanding of individual sports and extensive experience in dealing with individual sport athletes at all levels, contributing to the wider Strategic Plans of the University, particularly in relation to the development of the Carmarthen Campus. The Senior Admissions Officer will be a member of the Admissions team, but they will work closely across all relevant functional areas of Institute of Inner-City Learning (IICL) with a particular focus on
Birmingham in providing an effective and timely service in the recruitment and admission of applicants from Home/EU countries, in compliance with the regulations and requirements of the University and
other relevant Bodies. The role will focus on supporting applicants in their journey from recruitment to enrollment as part of the Admissions team.

The post holder will be required to work with relevant colleagues in Wales and at other UWTSD campuses as required. They will be required to liaise regularly with a range of colleagues including the Student
Services teams, the Campus Operations Managers and external agencies in order to ensure smooth implementation of the admissions process. The post holder will also be required to disseminate

The Senior Admissions Officer will be required to work within the Admissions Team, as well as working closely with other student-facing professional teams, lecturing staff and colleagues as appropriate to
ensure work is completed efficiently and effectively. The role also requires the post holder to be able to work independently and use initiative with the self-motivation to meet deadlines.
The post holder will be required to lead on progression events and class visits for existing students, ensuring students have a good understanding of their academic progression routes and options. They will
be the main point of contact for direct applicants and management of the “Introduce a Friend Scheme” ensuring applicants are guided effectively and appropriately through the admissions process from enquiry
to enrolment. A key responsibility will be ensuring maximum conversion of both progressing and direct student applications.

Furthermore, the post holder will be required to assist and deliver any promotional events, including July 2023 campus open events held by UWTSD Birmingham and external events around the West Midlands. They
will be required to support weekend progression events and class visits 4-5 times per year. The post may require travel between different delivery locations and other University sites depending on operational needs. The post holder may be required to assist admissions colleagues in both Birmingham and Wales during busy periods.

- MAIN DUTIES -

- ABOUT YOU –
Whilst a demonstrable experience within a high perofrming income team or environment would be advantageous, we are seeking an individual who can demonstrate strong leadership skills and a proactive nature in driving forward process improvements and the development of a team.

- ABOUT US -

- THE ROLE -
The Senior Student Services Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all stages of the London campus learner journey, from enrolment to graduation, run smoothly and efficiently. This will involve working with colleagues at the IICL campuses, the wider UWTSD group and stakeholders from external organisations including but not limited to Student Loans Company (SLC), UKVI and QAA.

This responsibility will include engaging in a continuous monitoring, evaluation, and learning process in order to identify opportunities for development and improvement and make suggestions for actioning directives from the University’s senior team. The post holder will also serve as the IICL campus’ representative in key central UWTSD committees and occasionally deputise for the Principal Administrative Officer (Student Services) in others.

The post holder will be expected to work closely with academic staff to ensure that students’ needs are met throughout their learner journey, and that appropriate and accurate information is communicated to them at all times. This may include uploading, reviewing and updating information on the virtual learning environment, and on the campus’ pages within the UWTSD website.

Another key aspect of the post is to liaise with Admissions and other relevant teams to support the transition of all new students from enrolment and registration into their first term of study.

The main duties of the role include, but are not restricted to, the following:
•To ensure compliance with all WTSD policies and requirements and those of relevant external Bodies, including, but not limited to Student Loans Company (SLC), UKVI and QAA;
•To ensure accurate and comprehensive student records are kept on the University’s data management systems;
•To work directly with students to ensure that they have adequate guidance and information throughout their learner journey;
•To coordinate the various branches of the central Student Services team, including those focused on pastoral care, student support, and well-being as well as those focused on record-keeping, data management, and compliance to create a comprehensive and accurate picture of each learner;
•To assist the Principal Administrative Officer (Student Services) in guiding and supporting academic staff members in compliance with both IICL campus and wider UWTSD policies and practices;
•To ensure that student cases including but not limited to Leave of Absence and Interruption of Studies requests are accurately and efficiently processed;
•To administer the student attendance review and monitoring system in an effective and efficient manner;
•To monitor the Student Services email inbox to ensure all mails are dealt with in a timely efficient and effective manner;
•To support the review and updating of information on the virtual learning environment, and on the campus’ pages within the UWTSD website oversee the IICL campus’ virtual learning environment, Moodle and ensure that module resources are streamlined;
•To represent the IICL campus on key UWTSD committees, as appropriate;
•To provide training on a variety of aspects relating to Student Services and contribute to the training of a wider audience (e.g. academic staff) on student services-related processes;
•To take every opportunity to encourage a team approach across the IICL campuses in order to establish and maintain uniform student services processes across UWTSD wherever possible; and
•To undertake administrative duties identified by Principal Administrative Officer (Student Services) and other seniors managers commensurate with the level of the post.
