Our Virtual Study Space will allow you to dedicate time to your university studies whilst being supported by library staff, recreating the library study experience in an online environment.

Each virtual study space session will be facilitated by two members of library staff and will enable you to study with other students in a supported environment. Sessions will be hosted on Teams and will begin with a very short introduction, taking you through the format of the session. There will be a 10 minute break mid-way through but the remainder of the time will be spent with microphones and cameras turned off to allow for quiet study. Library staff will be on hand throughout to any answer questions, just as they would be in the physical library.

Sessions will be available at the following times during term-time fromThursday 5th January. To join a session via Teams, just click on the relevant link:

2:30pm - 4:30pm on Mondays

9:30am - 11:30am on Thursdays

Netiquette Guidance

Please follow the following guidance when taking part in virtual study space sessions to make sure that it's a safe and welcoming place for all:

  1. Be polite and respectful to others taking part in the session (including library staff). Use appropriate language and don’t say anything online that you wouldn’t say in person.
  2. Information and assistance given by library staff will replicate what is offered in person at the library desk, so any complex queries will be referred on to colleagues as appropriate.
  3. Be pro-active in the main session and breakout rooms - use the chat function / raise your virtual hand if you have questions/wish to give feedback.
  4. When guided by library staff, please turn off/on your camera and microphone to allow quiet study for all participants / group participation.

If you have any questions about the virtual study space, please contact us via theLibraryChatbubble on this page. We look forward to welcoming you to our virtual study space.
