Who is it aimed at?:
Year 3 / Level 6(but can be applied to any student undertaking extended research)
Duration:1 Hour
The aim of this session is to provide an overview of how to find, evaluate, manage, retrieve and integrate appropriate information into extended research projects. Students are encouraged to ask questions and specific content may vary according to the needs of the group.
By the end of the session the student will be able to:
- Build a targeted search strategy and evaluate academic information
- Find information appropriate to their research topic using the library catalogue and specialist databases
- Search the internet for relevant academic resources
- Save, organise, retrieve and integrate appropriate information into their work
- Understand how research skills are transferable to the workplace
