Significant increase in Guardian 2020 league table ranking

UWTSD has today (June 7) seen its ranking increase by 29 positions in theGuardian2020 University league table, a joint 3rdhighest increase in ranking in the UK.

The University is now positioned joint 57thoverall out of the 121 featured institutions from across the UK.The Guardianranks universities according to nine different measures: including how satisfied final-year students are with their courses, spending per student; the student/staff ratio; graduate career prospects; what grades applicants need to get a place; a value-added score that compares students’ entry qualifications with their final degree results.

UWTSD scores particularly well for ‘satisfied with feedback’, achieving a joint 5thposition in the UK. The University also secured a joint 8thposition in the ‘satisfied with teaching’ category.

Several subjects rank in the top 10 overall in the UK: ‘Fashion & Textiles’ (1st), ‘Design & Crafts’ (7th), and ‘Art’ (8th).

“The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) celebrates the news that we have risen a further 29 places in the Guardian 2020 league table. We are particularly pleased with our two top 10 positions in the UK for teaching and assessment.

This latest league table confirms the results of the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2019 which saw the university win the main award in the ‘Courses and Lecturers’ category.

Our strong emphasis on personalised learning, small classes, student support and working together with our students in close partnership has been crucial to achieving these results.”
