The University of Wales Trinity Saint David has successfully be awarded Turing Funding for this academic year. The UK Government has launched a new £110m Turing Scheme designed to offer global mobility opportunities for 35,000 students annually.

"The Turing Scheme is the UK Government's scheme to provide funding for international opportunities in education and training across the world,"

Placements that take place from January 2022 to August 2022 and are from four weeks to 7 months in duration will be funded. Students will not need to apply to the UK Government for funding. UWTSD will administrate the Turing Scheme funding and will support students with their application paperwork.

To take part in a HE Turing Scheme mobility, participants must be:

  • registered at the UK or British Overseas Territories HE provider and enrolled in studies leading to a recognised degree or another recognised tertiary level qualification (up to and including the level of doctorate), or;
  • 最近他大学毕业生,他们可能会参与一个火车neeship and must carry out and complete their traineeship abroad within 12 months of graduating. Graduates do not need to be selected before they graduate.

How much funding will I receive under the Turing Scheme?

Students will receive funding to support their cost of living The UK Government has launched a new £110m Turing Scheme designed to offer global mobility opportunities for 35,000 students annually.

During a placement. Funding will be grouped into three categories:Group 1 (high cost of living), Group 2 (medium cost of living), Group 3 (low cost of living).

Students on a higher education placement lasting between four and eight weeks will receive:

  • To Group 1 destinations: £136 per week
  • To Group 2 and 3 destinations: £120 per week

Students on a higher education placement lasting over eight weeks will receive:

  • To Group 1 destinations: £380 per month
  • To Group 2 and 3 destinations: £335 per month

These grants will be in addition to any student finance participants who may already qualify for or are in receipt of.

Additional support for those from disadvantaged backgrounds:

Participants from disadvantaged backgrounds on a higher education placement will receive a higher cost of living grant.

Students on a higher education placement lasting between four and eight weeks will receive:

  • To Group 1 destinations: £63.50 per week
  • To Group 2 and 3 destinations: £147.50 per week

Students on a higher education placement lasting over eight weeks will receive:

  • To Group 1 destinations: £490 per month
  • To Group 2 and 3 destinations: £445 per month
